Shanti is Sanskrit for "inner peace".

We created our name based on a love for language, an appreciation for diversity, and a realization that the ultimate goal of any counselling process is to find a deeper sense of peace within.

When people experience such peace, they are able to think clearly, make effective choices in their lives, and solve life problems. Inner peace develops when individuals are able to develop awareness and understanding of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that are associated with life problems.

The therapeutic interventions that we use to facilitate the process of finding peace include strategies that are borrowed from Emotionally Focused, Cognitive Behavioural, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Systems, Mindfulness, and Narrative traditions of therapy.
