Bodywork in Vancouver and Burnaby, BC - At The Shanti Counselling Centre, we recognize the limits of “talk therapy.” Our human experience is a complex mixture of mind, body, and spirit. During therapeutic interactions with an individual counselor, counselors often help clients to get to their core emotional belief systems. Having cognitive knowledge about such belief systems is valuable, but belief systems are often “locked” in the body. Engaging in Bodywork helps in opening up the energy system in the body, ultimately facilitating a faster process of integrating new, and more positive, belief systems.
LIfe Coaching in Burnaby and Vancouver, BC - People often pursue counselling to address issues that are problematic in one’s life. Coaching, on the other hand, places a focus on possibilities and action, with an emphasis on clients having more of what they do want in their lives. Coaching can act as a compliment to the therapeutic process and as a stand-alone method that serves to fuel and partner with clients on their journey of authentic and inspired growth. Similar to how a personal trainer partners with you to achieve health goals, a coach partners with you to understand and achieve personal milestones - using tools such as curious questions, visioning and goal setting, championing and accountability. The coaching session is directed by the client and focuses on deepening learning and forwarding action in support of the clients values, dreams and goals. While the past may be discussed during a coaching session, it’s typically addressed for the purpose of identifying key themes, transferable learning, and application to the client’s current experience and future vision.
